Why I built Recreto
It started with a LinkedIn profile photo. I needed a professional headshot, but my options were: spend $100+ at a studio and block out half a day, or use that blurry selfie from two years ago. Neither felt right.
Then I needed a passport photo. Drove to a studio, waited 20 minutes for a 5-second snap, paid $15 for something I could have taken with my phone. And the photo? Honestly, I looked terrible. We've all been there.
I kept thinking — with AI this advanced, why can't I just upload a selfie and get a great photo in a minute? Something fast, affordable, and actually good? So I built it myself.
